GREEN ARROW #1 (of 12!) has finally landed!!
The debut issue of Green Arrow hits comic books stores as the miniseries expands into a maxiseries!
GREEN ARROW #1 IS FINALLY OUT TODAY!
And we have a big announcement!
Looks like we’ve found six more arrows in the quiver! I’m thrilled to announce that DC has extended the issue count of GREEN ARROW from six to TWELVE.
Thank you for supporting this book and making your voices heard, because I know I’ve got plenty more stories to tell with this ragtag bunch of archers.
To everyone that pre-ordered or spread the word about the GREEN ARROW series, YOU made this happen. This is the power of talking to your comic book stores and pre-ordering! You made this happen! THANK YOU!
Having the copies of GREEN ARROW #1 in my hands has been surreal. I’ve wanted to write Ollie and his family nearly my whole life and to finally be here, and to be able to tell THIS story, it’s emotional for me.
It’s a childhood dream come true and I’m been able to do with an incredible team.
I want to shine a spotlight on all the people who’ve been instrumental in making this book, starting with Ben Abernathy: Editor Supreme.
For years now, Ben’s been steering the ship at DC. This book would not have happened without him. One of comics’ greatest minds, he’s been instrumental for so many of the great comics that DC has made the last few years. A trusted friend, and forgive the choice of words here, but he’s never been anything less than a straight shooter.
Our series letterer, Troy Peteri, has followed me across a bunch of books I’ve done at DC these last few years, from Future State: Gotham to Robin to and issue of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths and plenty more. I always know the letters are in good hands with Troy, and I think you’ll agree once you read the issue.
Similarly, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with our colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr. on Infinite Frontier and Justice League: Metal and Justice League: Future State. Given how we’ve got all kinds of different Arrows on display here, from the green and red varieties to many more, Romulo’s ability every hue and shade pop is even more impressive.
Lastly, my brother-in-arms Sean Izaakse has given life to this book that’s allowed it to exceed my wildest expectations. Over three years ago, Sean tweeted out that one of his biggest goals was to work on a Green Arrow Family book. From our first conversation last year to the those I’ve had with him this very week, I’m constantly blown away by the level of passion Sean has for these characters. Seriously, just look at this art piece he did back in 1998/99. I dare you to tell me it doesn’t warm your heart to know that this kid who loved drawing Ollie now gets to helm the mainline GA comic.
What I’m saying is that Robin Hood would’ve been nothing without his Merry Men. Now I’m no Errol Flynn, but I sure am merry to have collaborators as great as these:
Getting the series extended to 12 issues has been amazing. But we can’t stop there. It’s crucial that when you get your copy of GREEN ARROW #1 this week that you also pre-order the next issue!
Here’s a little tease…it’s the first appearance of a new character called TROUBLEMAKER. Later this week we’ll show some of the awesome art from GREEN ARROW #2!
That’s all I’ve got, so now’s the time to get on down to your local comic book store and enjoy the issue! Make sure you’re subscribed to get all the latest on the Queens, Star City, and the worlds beyond!
I’ll catch you same Arrow time, same Arrow channel!
