Pick up SUPERMAN #850 Today!
The seventh issue of my SUPERMAN run, doubling as a special oversized anniversary issue, is available in comic book stores TODAY! Plus, an short NYCC recap!
Signings, Secret Meetings, very late nights with friends, spending time with other people who love comics, and walking the same streets that we’ve all dreamed of Spider-Man swinging over. There is nothing like NYCC.
Like all NYCC cons of the past this was just as interesting and eventful. But this one felt a bit more “Go! Go! Go! Go!” to me. From the moment I woke up to the moment I finally crashed at the end of each day it felt like I was always on the move, going from one meeting or event to the next. DC meetings and signings to our Skybound meetings and signings. Each night had a great dinner filled with friends and lots of comics talk.
But the best part was getting one on one time with the readers. To hear your shared love of comics directly. Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of going to cons. It’s time away from my family and from writing, but that time talking to people who love comics is invaluable. That’s the biggest piece that makes me go every year.
I only wish I had spent some more time on the floor in Artist Alley. It was packed full of amazing talent and I barely scratched the surface of it. In the future I need to book one day where I just walk up and down the aisles and take my time with it. Every year when I get home I realize how many people that I missed that I wish at least said hi to.
But like all the best NYCCs I’ve been to I came home energized about comics and the work that we’re doing. Something always happens at this con that creates a bit of mystery about the future. In some ways I know exactly what the future is but I can still see signs of uncertainty. And we’ll see what shape that takes over the next year. Anyway, enjoy a taste of the pictures from the show! I have to get back to work. Lots to do. The year feels like it’s already over.
Anyway, back to why you’re all here—this special week for SUPERMAN!
