WEEKLY UPDATE 9-26-2022
This week's update plus the DARK CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS 3rd printings!
Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend!
Things have been extra busy at the office lately. September was a frantic month. Launching this Newsletter was a big piece of that, so I again thank you for subscribing!
Everything I’m working on now is for 2023 and beyond. New #1s and some long term planning. Top secret fun projects. Once those are announced we’ll dive into the progress of each.
Last week I did a poll with the question “If a creator leaves the stands for an extended period of time…does it hurt their profile?” With the options of:
“Yes. I loved them and they LEFT ME!” (6%)
“No, Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” (35%)
“It’s complicated.” (58%)
With the last one clearly winning. So I’m guessing people have takes on this. Once I open up the comments I’ll ask this again, as I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on why they picked what they picked. I don’t think leaving the stands is a bad thing, at all. It’s healthy. I have a future post planned that goes into my thoughts all of this. The grind on the actual producing/writing side can be difficult at times and then once you add promoting that work…whew. It can be a lot. BUT HEY…SPEAKING OF WHICH…!
DARK CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS #1-#3 3rd printings! The biggest event for DC Comics in 2022 sold out and had to go back to print twice! Thank you to everyone who has been buying and supporting our epic story!
All three covers by Daniel Sampere and Alejandro Sanchez are out in comic shops this week!

Last Friday I did the first of the FLASH FILES posts that covered the first few issues of the Flash. It’s been really interesting to go down memory lane again with these issues. Check it out if it got lost in the shuffle at the start of the weekend. The first half is free but the rest is only for paid subscribers.
DARK RIDE #1 is out next Wednesday. I’m doing a longer post about my love for theme parks and what drove me to do this series next week on the day of release.
If you haven’t already pre-ordered #1, you can still do that with your comic book store!
DARK RIDE #1 has a special exclusive variant cover you can only get by subscribing to the SUPER SCARY CLUB.
MOVIE SCORES I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO AS I WORK. One of these might actually be a clue to something I’m working on. Not the one you expect.
Lost Themes by John Carpenter
Pearl by Tyler Bates & Timothy Williams
West World Season 4 by Ramin Djawadi
The Black Phone by Mark Korven
The Batman by Michael Giacchino
Nightmare on Elm Street by Charles Bernstein
That’s it this week. NYCC is next week. Hope to see you there! I’ll post my schedule in Monday’s newsletter as well as on twitter. Going to be a busy week!
